About Shufaa Athman

Shufaa was admitted in the Supreme Court of WA in November 2016 and in the High Court of Australia in January 2017.

During her university years, Shufaa volunteered in a multiple outreach programs including at a rural primary school for disadvantaged students, where she taught English and Mathematics.

In her final year at University, Shufaa was the recipient of the 2014 CISWA City of Perth International Student of the Year, and the 2013 ECU Vice-Chancellor Student Award for Contribution to University Life.

Shufaa’s main area of focus is in family law, particularly dealing with children’s and property matters, family law negotiations and consent agreements. Shufaa has had extensive experience in drafting applications and affidavits in the Family Court jurisdiction and is currently enrolled at College of Law studying Masters of Applied Law (Family Law).

Shufaa’s client-focused and compassionate approach to ensure that each of her clients receives her personal attention, enabling her to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.

Shufaa speaks fluent swahili. ​Outside of law, her interests include baking, photography and watching movies.
