PRACTICE MANAGER – BARRISTER & SOLICITOR
Dejan is the Managing Practitioner of Baldivis Law & Mediation (BL&M), where he leads a dynamic legal practice spanning commercial law, administrative law, family law, and estate litigation. Dejan is a versatile and solution-oriented legal practitioner with a dual academic background in law and science, bringing a multidimensional perspective to complex legal matters.
His practice is distinguished by a strong commercial acumen and a deep commitment to integrity and proper governance within legal and corporate frameworks. Dejan regularly appears as counsel in proceedings before the Magistrates’, District, Family, Supreme and Federal Courts, acting for both individual and corporate clients across a diverse range of matters.
His cross-disciplinary experience enables him to provide strategic and practical legal solutions, tailored to the unique needs of his clients.
KEY EXPERIENCE
Business and Commercial Law: Advising on general commercial matters, contract negotiation and drafting, business structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and the sale of businesses or assets. Dejan also regularly acts in a capacity akin to in-house counsel for corporate clients, providing ongoing legal support in respect of shareholder disputes, partnership and unit trust structures, corporate governance, and compliance. His commercial work includes preparation of commercial and retail leases, loan agreements (including mortgages and PPSR securities), title transfers, share transfers, and family law-related commercial transactions.
Estate Disputes and Succession Law: Representing clients in contentious estate matters, including family provision claims, contested probate proceedings, and applications under the guardianship and administration regimes.
Family Law; Advising and representing clients in parenting and property matters arising from separation and divorce, including matters involving complex asset structures, high-conflict parenting disputes, and financial settlements.
Administrative Law and Judicial Review: Representing clients in complex matters before the Federal Court, particularly in proceedings concerning the judicial review of administrative decisions.
Civil Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Appearing in a broad range of civil litigation matters across all jurisdictions, including contractual disputes, equitable claims, enforcement proceedings, and urgent interlocutory relief.
Wills and Estates: Advising on and preparing testamentary documentation including wills, enduring powers of attorney, guardianship instruments, and advanced health directives. Dejan also advises on estate planning and asset protection strategies.
Legal Drafting and Documentation: Drafting sophisticated and tailored legal documentation for individual and corporate clients, including commercial instruments, deeds, agreements, and court submissions.
